SUMMer 2024 introduction to competitive math
There are many prestigious math competitions out there, which have a long tradition of high achievement and excellence. However, debuting into the competition math scene can be a daunting task. Our goal here at Dragon Math Academy is to help you gain a foothold by sharing our competition experience, as well as teaching some introductory methods of problem solving. Our course will be mainly targeted towards AMC 8 and AMC 10, both of which are excellent competitions that promote a creative mindset. Through our program, you will learn how to approach competition problems with some simple techniques, taught in a well-paced and understandable manner. We also teach more advanced techniques to approach AMC 10 and even some low level AIME questions for more seasoned students.
Our staff are all high school students who have excelled at many math competitions, including the AMC 10, AIME, Mathcounts State, SMT, BAMO, and BMMT. Our motivation to produce this program is solely from our passion in creative thinking, and our hope to foster it in our future generations. All funding will go to PLAY Foundation and used for charitable causes. If you have any more questions about our program, please email us at [email protected]. |

ABOUt dragon math
Dragon Math is a branch of PLAY Foundation, that provides comprehensive math tutoring and prep classes. Our coaches are high-schoolers that are top math competitors who have excelled and achieved high distinctions in national competitions. We provide affordable math turoring to give students an opportunity to think deeply about contest-style math problems. All funds raised by Dragon Math go towards improving local schools.
Five years ago, Richard Wu and Vedant Kumud created Dragon Math to provide affordable math tutoring. Because it is a non-profit, Richard and Vedant were motivated to keep Dragon Math going solely because of their passion of math and teaching. Both Richard and Vedant have continued being a part of Dragon Math all the way through their senior year of high school, and they have recruited more members who will keep it running for more years to come.
